Synopsis

When harrassed advertising executive Rimothy Westerby hits his head on the morning of his daughter's society wedding, he awakes to find himself in the company of Polly Perkins, a 1920s Flapper girl straight out of his current advertising campaign. It soon becomes all too clear that no-one else can see or hear her, and when another bump on the head transports Timothy back to 1926 and the Savoy Hotel, the wedding preparations distintigrate into chaos as friends and family attempt to lead Timothy back to reality and his daughter down the aisle before the newly arrive "In-Laws" abandon the wedding.

We were especially fortunate on this occasion to receive a personal greeting from Ray Cooney, joint author of this play. Sadly, his writing partner, John Chapman, had very recently passed away, and the tribute (reproduced at the bottom of this page) was published in a national newspaper.

Since making her debut just two years ago, Sue Duffy ( formerly known as Sue Gravett and pictured above with Jim Saphin) had herself got married. Her wedding to our other Jim (Duffy) may not have been quite so eventful as the plot of this play, but knowing Jim, anything is possible.
